Lawrence Morillo is a Managing Director for Pershing, a BNY Mellon company, where he is the Branch Manager for the Lake Mary, Florida office and operations center. He is also responsible for balancing and control, tax reporting, straight-through processing and other productivity improvement initiatives. Mr. Morillo has held a variety of management positions since he joined Pershing in 1979, including account transfers; domestic, government and international clearance; corporate actions; custody; new accounts and purchase and sales. In 1983, he participated in the development of Pershing’s Fixed Income Division and served as Senior Operations Manager.
Prior to joining Pershing, Mr. Morillo worked as an Accounting Manager at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation. Mr. Morillo is Chairman of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s (SIFMA) Operations, Legal and Regulatory Committee. He is also a member of the SIFMA Operations Committee and past President of the Securities Operations Division. In 2003, he received SIFMA’s Distinguished Leadership Award for his ongoing efforts to support straight-through processing initiatives. In 2007, he received The Shareholders Services Association Tony Fireman Award for his leadership in obtaining changes in state laws to eliminate the requirement to issue physical certificates, and in uniting all involved organizations to move forward with the dematerialization effort. Mr. Morillo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Queens College. He also completed the Securities Industry Institute® program, sponsored by SIFMA, at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
