Kevin Armstrong is a Director and Managing Counsel for Pershing Advisor Solutions, a BNY Mellon company. Pershing Advisor Solutions is one of the country’s leading custodians for registered investment advisors and family offices. Mr. Armstrong provides strategic leadership and serves as chief legal officer for Pershing Advisor Solutions. He brings two decades of expertise in handling matters in broker-dealer and investment advisory law and regulation for financial services companies. He joined Pershing in 2008.

Prior to joining Pershing, Mr. Armstrong worked for Morgan Stanley with coverage for its retail wrap fee, mutual fund advisory, separately management accounts and financial planning businesses. He has worked for a number of financial services companies including, Fleet Boston Financial (now part of Bank of America) and Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (formerly American Express Financial Advisers Inc.) in Minneapolis, MN. In addition to his experience at these companies, Mr. Armstrong worked for the New York Stock Exchange while in law school and in the NASD’s (now the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) New York District office after graduation.

Mr. Armstrong is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and before the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Legal & Regulatory Affairs Committee of the Money Management Institute. He serves on the Committee on Federal Regulation of Securities, Section of Business Law of the American Bar Association and is also a member of the Legal and Compliance division of the Securities Industry Financial Markets Association. Mr. Armstrong is a member of the Executive Committee for the Corporate Law Section of the National Bar Association and is involved in charitable activities with various organizations, including the Penumbra Theater based in St. Paul, Minnesota and the Council of Urban Professionals, a non-partisan, nonprofit organization representing and advocating for the social, political and economic interests of urban professionals in New York. Mr. Armstrong earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Rutgers Law School.
