Garry Lischin is Managing Director, General Counsel and a member of the Executive Committee for Pershing, a BNY Mellon company, where he is responsible for managing the Legal Department and for providing legal services to the firm.
Mr. Lischin is also a member of the Risk Management Committee, the Pershing Associates Review Committee and the Suspicious Incident Oversight Committee for Pershing.

Prior to joining Pershing, Mr. Lischin served as senior vice president, managing attorney for the New York Legal Division of Wachovia Securities, following the joint venture between Wachovia Corporation and Prudential Financial in 2003. In that capacity, he was responsible for the management of Wachovia Securities New York Legal Division. In addition, he served on various firm committees, including the New Business Review Committee, the Brokerage Risk Committee and the First Clearing Senior Management Committee. Mr. Lischin also served as the chief legal officer for First Clearing, LLC, and Wachovia Securities legal division team leader for Operations and Clearing.

Prior to joining Wachovia Securities, Mr. Lischin was with the Prudential Securities Legal Division for 20 years in various roles. During that time, he was senior counsel to Operations and Systems, managing attorney, and supervised a 300-person Regulatory Settlement process. Prior to joining Prudential he was in private practice in New York City.

Mr. Lischin earned an undergraduate degree from The American University in Washington, D.C., and his Juris Doctor from New York Law School in New York City. Mr. Lischin is admitted to the New York Bar, the Florida Bar and has an in-house counsel license with the New Jersey Bar. He is a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association where he currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Compliance and Legal Division. Mr. Lischin is an Adjunct Professor at New York Law School teaching an LLM course in Correspondent Clearing.
